Hostaria La Carbonara - Rome

We were recommended this place by the taxi driver that picked us up from airport. He said lots of tourist spots near sites, but this one is a gem. When we arrived there were no seats outside as it was so busy. But the host told us someone was leaving soon so we waited a short while and got a great seat outside. The menu you can look online or they have a big black board they put out in front of you. Its all in italian but the waiting staff all speak perfect english. The staff were all fantastic and the food was amazing. Highly recommend. Was so full after I needed to roll home.

The place was amazing. We found it randomly walking through rome and decided to jump in for lunch without checking reviews and not even realizing they would close at 2:30pm. They actually extended for us and served us until 3:15pm and have been just amazing. Menu is in Italian only but the staff helped us out on that as ours isn’t that good. Carbonara was amazing. Pasta cooked on point not overcooked; not undercooked. The sauce was smooth as silk and the ham tasted amazing. The sprinkle of black pepper as a finish tasted amazing. The other dish was there pistacchio pasta dish and the quote my girlfriend „best pasta I ever had“. Leaved the place happy, relaxed, and full. Will come back for sure to try the gnocchi.

The restaurant name says everything. In this place, located in the Monti district, you can taste the most typical dishes of the Roman translation, the spaghetti bull's tail of the same name. The tavern is open since 1906, although in the room it is completely restored, but keeping the style of the past. Low prices, good carbonara and availability of free Wi-Fi.

Before traveling to Rome for the second time, I was looking for new places to eat rich and without spending much. Also a place that is next to the hotel where I stayed and La Carbonara appeared right on a street in my hotel. And the truth was a great discovery. After trying out their homemade tinquis, I was going to dinner every day, except for the weekend, I hear! you have to book on Fridays and Saturdays. If you want to eat very well, do not hesitate to visit this site. They also have an excellent wine list.
