Grillo's 1964 Bistrot - RONCADE

Very posh, very expensive. Very nice place to eat but not if you are hungry as we came home and had to make sandwiches as the portions look good but are tiny. Not a place to bring the family

We were travelling by car and spotted a place called Relais Villa Selvatico which we’ve chosen to spend a night in. Couple of meters away there’s this beautiful restaurant. With great people that work there, wonderful Italian cuisine and tasty wines. All that makes a fantastic atmosphere. We were there on Friday evening, a lot of local people came in so the restaurant became alive and full of Italians chatting, laughing, just enjoying life and it is always a “thing” that I’m looking for in places like this. We are new to this area and invited here by friends, so its shame the first experience was so bad. First impressions wasn 't so, the tables in the garden and the lighting made the place look really nice .... the bug spray at the entrance was a thoughtful touch also. The menu is predominantly steak and being not to big or too small looked promising..... Then the service started. The primary waitress didn 't introduce herself, plonked water on the table, shouted at the table to pay attention and apparently when I asked, she was the wine list..... but it did only have two options !! Then follows a list of service issues which slowly deteriorate into the last straw when the waitress (same one) was trying to tell one person the 4 butter knives are Italian steak knives...... shocking. Food wasn 't great, the vegetable selection looked recycled, the steak was fatty (we ordered three different types entrecôte, tomahawk and traditional fillet). People had lost enthusiasm by the dessert, but one or two people had something unremarkable.... All in all the food was disappointing, or fairer would be below average but the service was really poor, self absorbent, borderline rude and dismissive... so obviously absolutely no tip... and worth leaving a review which is representative of the experience... Its also a bit of a drive to Roncade and the place is just off the highway roundabout.... so traffic noise could be an issue but wasn 't last night.

Una posizione eccellente, immersa nel verde. Piatti gustosi e deliziosi. Ho provato il buffet all'aperto per un'occasione speciale e la varietà e la bontà dei piatti è stata eccezionale.

Eccellente ristorante di alta classe gestito dal giovane chef Alessandro Rossi. Piatti curati e perfettamente equilibrati, ambiente raffinato con illuminazione accurata, mise en place impeccabile e location storica. Una carta dei vini interessante. Consigliato.
