As the owner says, we 're a pescateria and we serve fresh fish, day by day it changes a little and so what is on the menu may not all be in the kitchen and what is in the kitchen may not all be on the menu . He served us himself, bringing us medias raciones of clams, fried hake, swordfish, octopus, squid, anchovies and scallop of tuna along with aubergine fries. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was brisk. Clearly this place is favoured by the locals and you can see why. We spent £35 not including a tip on a large lunch for two. We will be back soon.
Knew what we were in for. Only letdown was the language barrier but owner was really friendly despite not knowing a word of English. He introduced the menu thoroughly in Spanish and we sort of left it to him to conjure a set menu. Totally pleased with what’s served and for 8-9 items with 3 beers, total bill was less than 50euro. Extremely value for money but do be there early for the eatery packs in pretty fast, mainly regulars from the look of it.
Four of us went for lunch at 2 pm on a weekday, we had reservations (a good idea since the restaurant filled up quickly). Cristobal, the server, greeted us and recommended a series of dishes for us which he printed on a bill. Looking at the menu does not work since on a given day the menu changes based on the deliveries. We went over his recommendation and asked him to take two of the orders out, to be added at the end if we felt we needed more food. He seemed to agree but when the dishes started coming out, he ignored our request. Of course he knew we were tourists, you may want to make sure that your wishes are followed. These are the dishes we had rated 1 to 5 (best): Berenjenas: fried eggplant that looked like french fries, they had been mixed with flour and salt and deep fried. Delicious, 5 . Almejas: small little clams, very tasty, they are very tiny. 5 Boquerones: fried anchovies, slight bitter after taste, 3 Conchas Finas Planc: big clams, very tasty, nice sauce, 4 Merluza con limon: hake with lemon, deep fried, 5 Rosada fish: thick slices of white fish although we were expecting something like a red snapper: 4 Chipirones: grilled squid, good sized squid, delicious, 5 Atun: thin slices of tuna, grilled, 3 , this was the most expensive dish (14 euros) and most disappointing, the slices were very thin, not much spice, a bit dry, skip it. We had one rice pudding, one almond tart, 2 glasses of wine, 1 Fanta, 1 large bottle of water, bread. Each fish dish came with chopped iceberg lettuce on the side. The final cost was $100. This is a small restaurant, most of the clientele were local people, service was fast and efficient. The seafood was very fresh and in most cases well-prepared.
Calidad inmejorable !! Recomendado al 100 por cien! Para repetir !
