Move-a You Feetz-a To Fortunato's Pizza

Always so surprised and impressed with their food!!! I moved to lake ronkonkoma in June and I've popped in here while running to cvs 3 times now and have gotten the vodka slice, regular slice garlic knots and tonight I asked for a side of chicken with some garlic knots and WOOOWWWW!!! I did not expect this amazingly marinated side of chicken (with bread!! my new favorite pizza place and the whole staff is so welcoming and friendly! this place deserves all the recognition and I'm happy to say you will not be disappointed with anything!!! *edited, greasy fingers as I was stuffing my face with garlic knots*

I've been to many pizza places in my life, and, I must be honest, this is one of the best I have ever been to. The pizza is delicious, lots of tomato sauce on top, the way it should be, the hero sandwiches are great, salads are crispy, tasty, and the staff is polite and courteous. If you want great Italian food, this is the place. Fantastic!

The service was great. Everyone was very friendly, the wait time was extremely speedy and everything was brought to my table. I got a cheese pizza and some garlic knots. The garlic knots were as expected from most pizza places and the cheese pizza was very good as well. The only problem I had with the pizza was that it felt like it was missing something. It was a little bit bland but nothing that some oregano and some peppercorn couldn't fix. I've also gotten a chicken bacon ranch pie in the past and that was tasty as well. I do plan on coming back to this place and will hopefully try some other things on the menu to see how consistent they are.

I wanted to like Fortunato 's. My hopes were high, so much so that I did the unusual and brought the whole family into my planning. Dinner for everyone at an untested place is not something I normally do as my house has some specific tastes. But on this occasion i went all in. A Sicilian Pie for my wife and the boys, a Sausage Parm hero for me, and some garlic knots for the house. I called in ahead for pickup at 6:00. I arrived a minute or two before and after a little confusion my order was presented ready to go. I guess because I called it in at about 4:00, enough time passed between the order and my arrival to render folks memory foggy. In the end, no harm no foul. While walking with my bounty to the car I though the the boxes/bags seemed a little light but happy i was to be on my way. Had to be home for a 7:00 Zoom. Upon getting home I went straight to setting up for my Zoom call, hero and hard apple cider in hand and as I was going to my basement office, my said wow. Of course I turned to see wat was causing the exclamation. It turns out that the Fortunato 's Sicilian pie is about 2/3 the size of the local offerings. We are used to pie filling the box in whence it comes. So the wow was an a statement of being underwhelmed. OK, it is what it is, can 't change that but better informed for next time. I descend the stairs. The high notes are, I asked for my Sausage and bread to be separate because of my long trip home. I have no taste for soggy bread. They did this excellently even warmed the bread and wrapped in foil. The amount of sauce and sausage provided were impressive as well. I could have made a hero and a half from what they gave. Big plus!. The garlic knows were pretty standard fare, I like more garlic than standard. I know to order this way from the local guy, should have done it here as well. Unfortunately the lowest note was reserved for the sauce. four people all rated this as bland. One of those people when given the choice would put Prego marinara on pasta, so I think we know from bland. I normally add a coating of crushed red pepper to any red sauce , but forgot to take this with me downstairs, so I never had the chance to bump it up a notch or three and make lemonade from my lemons. In the end all of the pizza went and so did the hero, although I didn 't bother to use the rest of the sausage and sauce for anything else. So as Casey said while looking at the first pitch That ain 't my style . Maybe it 's your though. If your close (I am not) wouldn 't fault you for giving them a chance.
