Trattoria Tarello - ROPPOLO

Good dishes but high price, small portions and over all terrible service. It took 4 hours from the first bite to the dessert (we skipped the coffee to reach bed in time before the hostel to close) and over all completely forgotten by the owner (or owner-like) a giant pal who took the orders served the dishes, who enjoyed chitchatting with a group of friends of him, talking and laughing while we were waiting for something to eat (Francigena survivors)

Come again? Tripe? No thank you. My reply is that it's all in the preparation and it must also be served hot as they did at this restaurant. Granted, it's not on the regular menu which is why it has to be jumped on when it presents itself. Trattoria Tarello is a bit of a trendy place, nice tables, comfy chairs, and a good Italian menu, ie pasta and breaded veal, all fresh and, like the tripe, well prepared. It's a find in a place like Roppolo. Then again, it's right next door to Viverone on Lake Viverone so well heeled customers are never far away. So, good location after all. A good find and highly recommended.

We stopped by for a beer mid-afternoon, with the intention of having dinner there later that evening... the bartender (owner? 's unfriendly demeanour changed our minds.

Piccola trattoria nella campagna piemontese, il posto è senza fronzoli ma nello stile giusto, la cucina come quella di una volta, la scelta di vini imbottigliati non male, al calice aggiungerei qualcosa, se siete in zona una visita lo merita di sicuro.

Una trattoria che merita una sosta di fossa, possibilmente con calma, per gustare i piatti tipici del Piemonte. ospitalità e cordialità mai falliscono.
