Our round at this golf course was supposed to be a once-in-a-5 year experience, but it turned into a huge disappointment. We spend well over $250 each for a round of golf and gear in the pro shop, hoping for something special. Unfortunately, the continual interrogation and barrage by course rangers about our group size, combined with the painfully slow pace of play, made us regret every dollar spent. It's disappointing when a place that charges a premium price fails to deliver a premium experience. Avoid this course if you value a relaxed and enjoyable round of golf.
Manager comes the the outside bar with her name tag flipped walked away back into the clubhouse with a foam cup full of whiskey how is she a manager, having her employees pass her free drinks while she’s on the clock?, food service was awful, dining room was way beyond needing a facelift tables falling apart ect. Underwhelming is an understatement. Higher ranking and higher standard courses in northern Michigan I recommend going elsewhere.
Our group of 8 couldn't have had a better experience. Great golf, great service and an amazing Bootlegger course.
We played the loop and Forest dunes in the beginning of August. The courses were in amazing shape. The greens were well manicured and taken care of. We had great food and service at the clubhouse. Play the Bootlegger!!!
