That was a good pizza! We love Ole Piper, especially the pizza!! I recommend the Chicago style deep court, one of the few places in the Twin Cities that knows to make it. Mozzarella sticks are great and you get a bunch.
Great food and friendly service. We just tried a few things, but they were so good that we can't wait to come back and try more! Edit: We came back for lunch and really enjoyed our food. But my son did not like his turkey BLT Hoagie. The server was very friendly and brought him a cheeseburger so he did not starve. Very enjoyed our experience and will return!
Years ago, I would visit Ole Piper every Tuesday with my date. We would go to the restaurant and order a variety of food. When we stopped dating it was lost a memory of things, I no longer went there (by 2015). It was the same with Perkins and other restaurants. With the beginning of the pandemic I tried out the websites and would be frustrated with the selection. The menus were reduced and changes/substitutions were not possible. I don't know why I never noticed trying Ole Piper, I just live a few blocks away. I don't know, but I guess her menu was pretty much what it is now. In the last few months I would drive Cedar Ave and began to notice what looked like reserved parking for board pickup (there is actually an exit of 4-9 pm, but never drove into the parking lot to check it. I started pulling her menu and began to remember the different foods, but was scary when I thought of the actual order. The website does not really give the blocking policy or anything unless you “Start an order.” One you do will be asked to sign yourself and that is where I became afraid and would “x-out.” In the end, this week I got the gumption to register an account and register for the loyalty program (which the website does not say anything about “join”. I logged in and ordered the next day. The food is as great as I remember! The portion sizes are large, but not too much. I actually ordered more than I could eat in a session, about one and a half days. The Curbside Pickup is easier than you might think, although you need to call them to let them know that you are out there (in contrast to McDonalds, where it is all electronic, but I did it and was satisfied. Today I ordered another item, this time I ordered only one item. It was a bit of food, and it was full and big. I'll go back. Making substitutions is easy and part of the process. I wish I didn't stop going here. Of course, Curbside is a result of the pandemic, more places have to offer it.
We go here weekly and have for years. I 've had just about everything on the menu and most many times. They currently have a 'Seasonal Special ' Reuben, Cheeseburger and Philly Quesadillas. Tried the Reuben and had a loaded baked potato to go with it. Delicious! Looking forward to trying one of the others while they still offer them.
