The atmosphere is honestly the best part about this restaurant though when I asked for a glass of water, she didn't write it down... I asked again, she didn't write it down again, finally we just went up to the bar and asked for a glass of water while the waitress in question was up there. Finally our food came out and by the help of another person, it was lukewarm so obviously it had been sitting for awhile because our waitress was too busy not doing her job. It wasn't for forty-five minutes when this waitress came up to us again even though she had been walking around the bar the entire time. Our food was lukewarm, and the service provided by our waitress was terrible, but if you hire this kind of individual it speaks for the quality of the restaurant.
Sat at the bar and had prime rib. We ordered it to split and not sure if kitchen understood and I believe cut the meat link wise rather than in half. It was so tough and cold. The potato was cold too. Sent it back. The second time it was better but still tough and potato again not even warm. One of the worst pieces of prime rib I have ever had. The bartender was so apologetic and gave us a discount which we appreciated. Haven’t been there for a while and was certainly not how we remembered the food.It was fantastic the last time we were there. Would not recommend the prime and honestly will probably not be back again for a while.
I sat at a table in direct eye contact with the waitress station. Second in a long row of tables, I was the only customer in the row. A bartender and at least three waitresses clustered at talking and laughing, Trivia Night on the other side of the room.I had eye contact with each one of them from my empty table 6-12 feet away. No service or greeting. It wasn’t busy, but I could not get attention. Now I know what a ghost feels like. Or a woman over 55? ?Finally, I took three strides to the waitress station to emerge from the ether and waved my hands at them. Ladies! ?They can see me… Whew!I’m not dead yet. Then, they absolutely fawned over me, to a very uncomfortable degree. It felt either patronizing or clueless. I had some sort of recommended dish that was a dripping take on tacos. Not at all good. But it was being approached every five minutes after the initial flag-waving by every single one of them that was really weird and uncomfortable. My mouth was always full when they were “comforting” me literally every five minutes. I had to keep rush-gulping the soggy bite to answer,“Yes, I’m fine, Thanks. Again!”Overcompensating? I don’t know. I don’t care. It was surreal trying to eat and being interrupted so often that eating was challenging. It counts as one of the weirdest dining experiences I’ve ever had in my life. I just wanted a beer and an appetizer and to relax. I did enjoy the trivia tho.The food wasn’t good, It was extremely uncomfortable and I won’t be going back.
Met friends there after a play at the Steeple Center. Everyone commented that the food was good and the atmosphere was great.
