What I loved about this place is I made reservations through email. I am deaf and I hate using my cellphone. The owner responded quickly and made the reservations. I have never had that happen before in my life. You have to go.
I guess I would describe this as upscale Mediterranean food. It's not your typical gyro sandwich stop. It's located where was once the Roswell Tea House. Fortunately, if you like tea, they still serve it with a decent selection of choices. Parking is also something that hasn't changed. It's narrow and tight. Arrive at the wrong time, and you'll probably need to park on the next street. If you like deviled eggs, I would recommend the tartus eggs appetizer. Wonderful. It's kind of like a deconstructed deviled egg. I had the chicken schwarma which was pretty good, but I've had better.
Be sure to make reservations the food is amazing and the tea selection is out of this world. If you have a large group make your reservation MONTHS in advance. There really aren 't an abundance of 'real ' tea rooms in Georgia. This one is definitely a real tea room. There is are no chintzy, old fashioned decorations you 'll see local art on the walls and an abundance of flowers. It 's a classy way to spend an afternoon. Put on your cute dress and shoes and go out for a nice lunch or high tea. You 'll have fun.
Artful food and decor create a unique dining experience in downtown Roswell featuring authentic family recipes drawn from locales throughout the Mediterranean paired with a wide assortment of fine teas. Proprietor Louis will help you explore the food and tea menus along with daily specials and recent art installations crafted by his brother. The food is richly flavored and well balanced as are the one of a kind paintings, sculptures and framed art. Tafa's is an excellent destination for lunch or romantic dinner with seating inside and out overlooking Magnolia Street.
Wow! Consistently great food. Fresh, fresh, fresh food. Reasonable prices. Unique combinations and flavors. Don 't listen to reviewer below (Jtau). I 'm not a 'southern geriatric genteel woman ' passing my time. I 'm interested in all different kinds of food and have experienced hundreds of restaurants all over the world, and believe me, Roswell Tea House deserves my repeated patronage. I recenetly brought a cynical crowd there and they all left smiling and content. My friends and family love it and the bottomless tea cup of as many types of teas you want to try is outstanding. Admittedly, the service has not always been the most attentive, but seems to have gotten a little better. I love this place and go often.
