Outstanding and unusual food a UK French trained chef of Indian origin, merging the two traditions to wonderful effect. Brilliant!
Well cooked inventive flavoursome food...attentive service by young staff. Will be going again and look forward to trying their other restaurants.
A real restaurant for foodies fresh modern takes on the Indian genre. Very inventive dishes, beautifully presented and great flavours. It was a nice touch to have complimentary pre starters and palate cleansers between dishes. My wife and I were in no rush, but even so, the service was very slow! The staff were very apologetic and took some money off the bill. But it shouldn't take 3 hours to serve a table for two! Value wise; our bill (without the discounts) for 3 courses and a low end wine would have been around £120. So not every day dining, but a good special occasion if you aren't in a rush!
Just to let you all know our experience at the ambrette on this particular evening was pretty dreadful. I have written direct to the owner of the ambrette and to date have not even had an acknowledgement or reply. I have now re-sent the letter requesting at least some response form them regarding our dining experience. This was overall very disappointing. We booked Asia group of eight friends and our friend who booked this has let me respond for us all.
