The menu is full of classic lunchy, brunchy stuff, but it's never been this good. -Huge portions, made by a chef with an unerring instinct for flavour, and for succulent, comforting textures and combinations. The people are lovely too. (And Ticehurst is a very nice, pretty village too. Honestly, this place is a gem.
A really lovely place with very friendly and welcoming staff. I’ve come here a couple of times and both times was great coffee and delicious food! the portions are huge and you can tell it’s all cooked fresh. I’d definitely recommend this place
Absolutely fantastic as usual. The unique atmosphere of this cafe never disappoints. The food is outstanding, the staff is incredibly welcoming, and the decor is fascinating. The coffee, cakes, and breakfast options are all delicious. The scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection. Can't wait to come back again soon.
I am a local resident in the area and had never noticed this café before. While I was waiting for my medication at the neighboring pharmacy, I decided to grab a drink and a pastry. I ordered a fizzy Elderflower drink and a pastry, which surprisingly costed just under £10! Despite the high price, I paid for it and went to the back of the café, which seemed to be a back room. Unfortunately, the café's decor was not appealing at all. They went for a mismatched look, but it was clear that they had not invested much in the decor, making it unappealing. Additionally, there was a strong smell of old greasy food in the air. I sat down at a table, sipped my drink, which was okay, and started on the pastry. It was disappointing and definitely not worth the price. It seemed like they bought the pastry cheaply and charged a high markup. The menu prices were also shockingly high. I compared it to a farm shop called Eggs to Apples a few miles away, which has higher prices but offers good food, excellent service, and well-decorated dining area. The Greedy Goat café charging similar prices didn't make sense to me. I left the café feeling ripped off and carrying the remainder of my Elderflower drink, leaving the pastry behind. I am disappointed with the quality of the food and feel like I could have cooked better at home. I strongly recommend avoiding this place as it just seems like a typical greasy spoon.
Several years after driving past this cafe, my husband finally remembered he wanted to bring me here for a brekkie. So this Sunday morning, here we are. Initial thoughts on walking in was....its a wee bit small and could be a smidge noisy (for me). BUT.....hold the line! There is also a cosy room at the rear filled with glorious sun rays this particular morning. This room is delightful with art on the walls that you can purchase. And beautifully painted dining tables in different moods. Little eccentricities like cat face coasters, a chubby chooken, and terrarium, to name a few. The ladies looking after us are 'naturally friendly ' and professional. The menu is scrumptious, and it was a little difficult to decide. We both chose something different from what we normally would go for, and we were not disappointed. Everything about this wee gem is fabulous, and I look forward to our revisit.
