The Village Cafe - Rother

I bought a couple of sandwiches and coffee which were absolutely delicious.I felt really bad afterwards as when I placed my order I moaned about the high prices.The server did say that they only use fresh local produce hence why the higher price; I didn’t really believe it but boy was I wrong.For ex you could tell from the colour of the eggs that they’re from a farm,rather than the bog standard ones in the supermarket.I will definitely go back there again when I’m in the area

I got scones to take away, they were delicious. Check times and order ahead if you can. The cafe was welcoming and felt very safe.

A very friendly little cafe. Food is great. Welcome is lovely and the staff/owners are friendly and always ready for a chat and a chuckle. Breakfasts are delicious and even though i am not vegetarian i love the veggie breakfast. Hot chocolate is good too and always hot

I had seen the glowing reviews for this cafe and popped in for breakfast. The breakfasts are firmly set. As I don't drink tea or coffee I asked for an alternative. Nothing available, apart from, presumably, tap. Neither could I opt out of disliked food which would go to waste. So I went for a panini and a separate drink. More expensive than the breakfast, but okay. Not a good experience. Most cafes are happy to mix and match, some fall over backwards to accommodate, but clearly this is all too much effort for the chef or owner. The result is a lost customer.

These people are soooooo lovely, they really care about getting your food right and the service is just perfect. They use really good ingredients and cook it well. Plenty of tables, lots of choices and it’s great for a weekend treat.
