The Maltsters Arms - Rotherfield Greys

The Sunday roast was a bit pricey at £19.95, especially for just two thin slices of beef, but the flavor was great. I wish there had been a bit more for the price. The red cabbage had an unusual taste; my son thought it had a Thai flavor, and I'm not sure if I liked it—maybe it had some sort of Chinese five-spice in it? The green beans and cabbage were very nice and crunchy. The meal came out super quickly, and the Yorkshire pudding and gravy were delightful.

The food was once again outstanding. The atmosphere is delightful, featuring plenty of space and various nooks to suit different moods. The new staff are still getting acclimated, as is often the case in many pubs and restaurants. They were friendly, welcoming, and nice, but slightly inexperienced. I’m confident they will catch on quickly, so we’ll definitely come back to see how they’re doing!

The food is incredible, as always, and Gary is consistently friendly. I really enjoy the pods; they provide a quiet and pleasant atmosphere.

This is within walking distance for us but there is ample parking if needed. Good choice of food including fresh fish, an unusual mezze platter for one or too share. Good choice of beer and wine, friendly service and a rather quirky ambience. Lots of outdoor space with good covering for tables in case of rain. We will certainly visit again
