The Earl Of Strafford - Rotherham

I have visited this restaurant a few times with my partner, who had a great experience when he dined with his family not too long ago. Unfortunately, our own experiences did not match up. On both occasions, we felt neglected as our food orders were taken and we received our meals after a wait, but no one checked in to see if we needed any sauces or to see how our meal was. Even though a larger table nearby was asked about their meal, no one came to clear our table or offer dessert, and there was no one available to bring the bill so we had to go to the bar to pay. It's a shame because we really enjoy the food, but the service definitely let our experience down.

I visited this restaurant for the first time today with my parents and daughter. The food service was extremely fast and the food was served at the perfect temperature. It tasted just as good as it looked! My daughter started to get a little tired, but Nicole, one of the staff members, kindly offered to help push her around while I finished my meal. I can honestly say that my first experience here was amazing and I will definitely be coming back next time with my dog! A big thank you to Nicole for her assistance and to all the other staff at Earl of Strafford.

I celebrated Mother's Day here, where we paid £25 per person for a three-course meal. The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

Been a few times in the last few months. First time we had a Sunday dinner, which was really nice. Service was poor though. We had to keep getting up to go ask someone for everything. 2nd visit, it was dead. There were only about 3 groups in, which is absolutely fine for us so no complaint there. However, our starters were all cold. In fact, one part was still frozen. So, they had to be returned. We then skipped that and went straight to the mains, which seemed quite over cooked. So, we had one extreme to the other. I imagine the chef was just a trainee or something. The waitress was extremely apologetic and very helpful and understanding. Just been again today for a Sunday dinner. Service was extremely poor again. We had to keep getting up to find someone to ask to order or ask for something. Very poor, which is a real shame because the food is extremely. If you are in a rush, then don 't go here.
