Four of us went out to eat at this restaurant. We placed our order for starters and mains at 6:45. Unfortunately, three of the main dishes we wanted were not available. It took 45 minutes for our starters to arrive after we had to chase them up, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Our mains were average at best. It might be time for the restaurant to reconsider their offerings, as there is plenty of competition nearby. In summary, the quality of the food is similar to a chain pub but at a higher price.
I visited The Hind for the first time last Saturday early evening with my partner and young nephew. It wasn't too busy so we were able to find a table right away. However, it took almost 15 minutes to be served at the bar when we tried to open a tab for drinks. After deciding on our food, it took another 10 minutes to order at the bar. Unfortunately, two out of the three items we wanted were not available, leading to multiple trips back and forth. I ordered the spicy chicken burger and fries, scampi and chips, and fish fingers for the kids. The food arrived quickly, but there were hardly any fries with my burger, which was not spicy. The lettuce was old and brown, and the bacon was overcooked. The peas with the fish fingers looked overcooked as well. My partner had to wait a long time to get another drink, and no one checked on us during or after the meal. Despite trying to get the servers' attention, we were left waiting for 15 minutes after finishing our meal. In the end, we decided to pay and leave without being asked about our experience. Overall, I was disappointed with the food and service at The Hind, and I would not recommend it. The establishment could benefit from cleaning the upholstery on the seats and fixing the gents' toilets. I would rather go to the homestead down the road for a similar meal at a lower cost. This was a one-time visit for me, and I will not be returning.
Awful Don 't bother the lowest quality food I ever had in a pub. I will tell you why. Ordered Shared Nachos for 2 £8 plus can remember the exact price may as well got a single bag of Doritos and put ketchup on and a blob of Mayo honestly no thought into the presentation poor quality not even warm not a trace of cheese, absolutely appalling it wasn 't worth £1 never mind £8.50. Wife said her sea bass was ok just the smallest you 'd ever seen in your life. I had a burger ...actual meat in burger was ok to be fair but the bread was a terrible (greasy spoon) type cheap bread roll cheese was rubbery and just presented like a it had all been thrown on a plate. Chips 'old and cold ' so sent them back. Ordered 2 side dishes, but only one came and then the onion rings were just a greasy soggy mush of rubbish. If you are driving down Bawtry Road drive past this place as it really has got a lot to learn about presentation. Good points it is cheap Beer is ok and the mainly male waiters try, but its obvious they are embarrassed by the quality of the food they put in front of you. Drive on turn a left at Whiston Crossroads there are at least 3 pubs down the road doing things so much better
