Dome - ROTTNEST ISLAND

Good coffee with a larger selection of breakfast options compared to other restaurants on the island. chocolate croissant was fresh and chocolate melted in the mouth!

If I could summarise this restaurant in one word I'd say completely and utterly underwhelming I ordered the big breakfast, and honestly, it was a medium breakfast at best. A funeral home has more life than the hash brown corpse I recieved, the toast had most likely only seen a toaster from the other side of the kitchen and the grilled tomato was as droopy as a sunflower in June. On top of this, the service was largely frustrating, from not being able to smash an avo, to tossing plates around the table willy Nilly, it was a disaster. The best thing about this dining experience was leaving.

Unfortunately not a great experience. $70 for lunch for a sad roast vegetable and haloumi salad, roast vege wrap and mac cheese for the toddler The vegetables on both the wrap and the salad were raw. The mushrooms in the salad were questionable and made me feel a little queesy and the wrap took 45min to come out, well after everyone elses food The poor staff were confused and undertrained. Overall a disappointing experience and management need to step up the quality of tge training and meals.

By any standard this place is terrible. TGI Friday's atmosphere. Expensive and poor quality food. Greek lamb salad was a bowl of baby spinach with some chopped vegetables and a couple of sad tasteless pulled lamb pieces, drowned in cheap dressing. It looked much better than it tasted. Eggs were nicely cooked but an underwhelming breakfast to say the least Credit where it's due for the nice view, nice enough coffee and efficient service. I'm also taking into account the limited choices on the island. But even so, Dome is disappointing.

Imagine my surprise when the ferry docked at Rotto and the first thing I stumbled on after emerging to the land was yet another Dome. Wanting to maximise the day and frankly not sure of where or what the other food options were we thought we would venture there for breakfast. The pancake stack was a bit boring and plain but I have only myself to blame given I chose it with full disclosure of what I'd be getting due to the pictorial menu. I find pancakes without ingredients mixed into them like berries or choc chips or without fun toppings can be a bit all one textured and devoid of flavour. These were passable but nothing great. Pretty much sums up the restaurant too
