Excellent training course and positive work place or environment.
I worked for Destiny foods. The starting pay is 50 cents above minimum wage. With the promise that if you stay and do a good job. You will get raises. I had three outstanding evaluations from three different managers. I got 8.20 a 20 cent raise. They would say things like it was a old form and tell the District manager he had to put in a new form and turn it in, in person. I would have my hair pinned up and completely covered in uniform and would follow Subway corporate policy. If you don't the store will fail. A man complained after eating almost all his sandwich and then wanted me to give him his money back. At the same time a business next to us told me to move my car all the way to the end of the parking lot. My horn was having technical issues and the lady next door demand I disable my horn. I told her I don't know how. Our line was to the door like usual. On top of that the U. P. S man needed me to sign a package. There were two people only and I had to train the other employee. Someone called and complained so Destiny foods used that as a excuse to not give me a raise. I trained people. I had to work with people that were under the influence of drugs. I have had to even cover a person at another store because there excuse to there District manager, because they were the manager was they were to high to come in to work. The last straw was when I went out to another Subway this Co-worker was off at 6:p.m. but refused to leave. Stayed and insisted that she put the bread in the proffer at 68 F. Which is a corporate No No. I knew this because I was trained by a strict by the rules lady who works for Subway corporate. She says food safety she is right. This Co-worker. Still trying to put the bread in the proofer at 68 F. I tell her know people can get sick. She told me the District manager told her too. She is yelling at me behind the line in front of customers. This is the 2nd time she has done something like this to me and she got into a yelling match with another employee behind the line till the guy walked out. I left turned in my key and wrote to Destiny foods why I'm not going to return to that Subway. This same women another employee reported to the District manager that she does not wash her hands or wear gloves goes to the bread cabinet and touches the bread when the customers are not looking. They made sure she is still employed and that I can't be rehired. If your a drug addict you will probably get promoted to a Manager position. If you are verbally abusive to your Co workers and yell at them in front of the customers they will believe whatever you say and jeep you on the staff. If you work hard. Make sure you put there money in the bank everyday. Train everyone that comes through the door. So there doing there job so that we pass subway corporate every month. Make sure you do everything right so no customers get sick. Clean the restaurant like cleaning professional. It's not good enough.
A few weeks ago I went into one of their Subway stores on Mays in Round Rock, had a completely awful experience with a young man making our Sandwich, me and my wife were each getting a sandwich, and I am trying to decide what I want on my Sandwich, the man looks rushed and frustrated which was somewhat understanding, but it took me maybe 30 seconds total to decide on all that I wanted on the sandwich, and he just started throwing insane amounts of veggies on my sandwich, and I said a a little less please, not so much then we went over to sauces and my wife asks for mayo, and I almost right away knew he did it on purpose with how frustrated he was, he put Ranch on the sub instead like he had made some rookie mistake or something, and tried to close the sandwich without even asking what else, like he just ended her order for her, she said I 'm sorry but you put ranch on my sub, I asked for mayo and just kind of chuckled and said sorry I cant eat it that way and if he could atleast dump the parts of the food on the sandwich with ranch on it or wipe it off real good, not even start over, like most would ask, instead he shoved both sandwiches aside (he didn 't even attempt to close my sandwich because he purposely put way to many veggies on it and he knew it) he then told us just to leave the store then and not come back. Like what on earth did we do? This guy had some serious anger issues, and must of been having a bad day, you could see it in his face he had a problem from the start, but cussing and yelling at a customer is inexcusable. He should not be in the customer service industry, certainly after we found out he was the Manager of the store, his name was Colby. Had already had a few bad experiences with this particular store and the same employee just a few weeks prior, I alone had just walked into the store, and he was the only one there, he had just came from the back and a strong odor of Marijuana came suddenly to me and I could see his eyes were somewhat bloodshot, he made the sandwich fine that time however its obvious what he was doing and unprofessional. Every other time I went there, it was someone new and was slow service and the parking lot is horrible, I went in one time and the employees were just sitting down on top of the tables which is what customers eat on, after that last experience I am no longer giving them service after being a regular customer, avoid this Subway and its franchise, which is called Destiney foods after some research, unfortunately they own quite a few of the stores in the area. They obviously have no standards
Subway also seems indifferent to the quality of the food we served; if it looked somewhat acceptable, it was served. Their primary concern was how much revenue we generated by the end of the day. My friends spent more time at Subway than at home with their families, constantly being contacted about work even during their off hours, regardless of whether they were on salary. The fact that they fired Austin really highlights their lack of regard for their employees. It's evident that Subway is not a great company to work for, and the negative reviews online reflect that reality.
