O'dowd's Of Roundstone

Really nice restaurant in the center of the village with typical Irish ambiance. Efficient service. Excellent food. Recommend the pasta/salmon and the goat cheese/aubergine/sweet potatoes. Very good coffee (at last!

Stopped off here on our way through Roundstone. The service was good and the food was tasty. A nice touch was the savoury scones instead of a basket of bread. I thought the crabs claws were delicious but seemed expensive for what was presented on the plate.

Typical Irish Restaurant &Pub, in the centre of the place, just across the City harbour. Offering local Sea meals, I thought that it. Local which means fresh and large portions. Unfortunately it was only fresh and tasty, soup was good and hot for 5€. 8x Baby Crab claws for 18.50€ , 2x bagels, 2x butter . It was at 1st. page of the Menu, I thought this must be good and plenty of it. Staff ask me was everything OK, I confirm to him that it was tasty but small portions. He said to me that quantity is according to the price. Good answer, must be owners son or relative. For 28.25€ I go out from many different restaurants with full stomach. This is not Michelin 5 place, be ready to pay like it is. Please correct me if I am wrong!

Delicious local restaurant with options of several local dishes including fish dishes and lamb stew. Oysters were also available.

We ended up eating here twice, hoping that the first time was just a one-off bad experience. The first time we were seated at 7pm only to be told that there was no seabass, lobster, salmon, crab claws and something else. We managed to find something with our limited options. The food was OK but definitely not anything to brag about. The second time we made sure they had everything available before being seated with drinks. Crab claws definitely did not taste fresh. We had a vegetarian either us who ordered the only option available which was a black eyed bean and veg burger. It was not a burger at all but rather a soft vegetable cake on a plate with tomato chutney on top. The service here is really good, unfortunately the food is overpriced, questionably fresh and not anything I would expect from a seafood restaurant on the harbor.
