While docked, I made my way into town at night in the rain with a group of guys I met on the ship (wives wanted to stay in and warm and dry). We found Breuer's Restaurant u. Gutsausschank and hung for some beers and local fellowship. Worth the walk; fun time.
Had no plans to eat here. But the street was very quaint and inviting. We were lured in by the music. Decor nice. Music good. Food very enjoyable. Would go if in the area again.
They have a good selection and consistant delivery, good staff and the waits are minium with good local beer and wine.
This place had live music and we ordered a bottle of the hotels winery. Aside from the food being awesome and service top notch , they sell 450 different bottles of wine by the bottle. Oldest going back to 1700 's! for $1,600 We ate and quickly went to the winery so we could taste the portfolio and the Grand Cru Rieslings. Delicious The hotel is on the list to try next time as it is a Wine Hotel and looked pretty interesting.
On my third visit to this lovely Rhine town, we ate at this historic establishment primarily because of the reputation of George Bruer's excellent wines. The wine was superb, but the food was nothing above average and it appeared that some of the staff had become a little complacent.
