Le Consul - Rueil-Malmaison

Really civilised, even if you come here on a weekend I always go for the new Spanish Marshmallow El Grande ($6.95) hot chocolate.

Not sure if this restaurant wants or needs customers, as the personal cannot be disturbed. my friend and I came early to a civil high time in the Rueil-Malmaison rathaus, so we decided to take a quick caffe next to the high time. we asked... the staff at the bar, if we could have 2 outside seats for a cup of coffee when we came in. the staff at the bar then looked at us that I held a croissant bag on the top of my purse and said: “You don’t eat it here.” we looked down and said: “Oh, sure, we won’t eat it here, just want to take a cup of caffe on the terrace before the high time.” then she showed us “indoor” and said: “You can find them sitting here.” we then said, “It’s okay, we understand it. we will find another caffe.” here is the thing: it was 10:55 clock and it was for the French Expresso cafe so it won’t take much of its time. we both speak French and live here for years (so we are still confronted with minimal expectations), but this attitude and the service level have still made us an impression. If you prefer to enjoy your time, whether you are on the go or want to take your time, there are some more caffes and restaurants on the same street in less than 30 seconds to walk.

Something lacks in this restaurant. what is going on? the human touch and the chaleur warmth) of the staff and their smile at customers. even the commercial smile is missing. eating is easy ok and the service is also easy ok. was. to many restaurants in rueil and to no one I felt a bit le coeur pince! the terrace is great and the location is great. Although we did not experience any rest, we could still feel it in the air! it could be that because this rest is coming in mainly from a bar in the evening, with happy hours offered.
