George's Tradition West Bridgford

The food at this restaurant is fantastic, the service is top-notch with a great team of people, and the Uber driver was also excellent.

I updated this review in December 2023 because it seems that improvements have been made. The restaurant had declined significantly for a year or two, but I must give credit as the food has been excellent the last few times I visited. Hopefully, it continues to stay this way.

Only fish and chip shop in the area open on a Sunday, very big positions. Friendly staff and food was gorgeous. All in all 5 stars for everything would definitely recommend

The service was also lacking, with two young blonde girls working who seemed to have no customer service skills. Despite there being only two customers in the restaurant, it took a long time for anyone to address me and take my order. When I finally got their attention and ordered a Large Fish and Chips meal, I was told it would take at least 5 minutes to cook. Unfortunately, when my order arrived, it was not what I had asked for. I received a small fish and chips with curry sauce, which I did not want. The portion size was also quite small for the price I paid. The curry sauce was lacking in flavor and was too thin and watery for my liking. Overall, I was disappointed with the changes at George's and the quality of the food and service.

Ordered takeaway here tonight. It’s probably the best battered sausage and chips I’ve had. definitely will be returning for another take out! Two pea fritters for just under £3. Giant and worth the money!!
