Paisano's - Rutherford

I went to Paisano's for the first time last night and it was fantastic. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and is surprisingly spacious. There is only street parking available, but finding a spot nearby has never been an issue for me. We had made reservations in advance, but it turned out they weren't necessary. However, I could see this place getting busy on weekends and reservations being essential. The food was amazing - our table ordered a variety of dishes. I tried the Spiedini and the Oxtail Ragù, both of which were fantastic, especially the Spiedini. I've had Spiedini before that didn't quite meet expectations, but Paisano's nailed it. Our server was friendly, but a bit slow given how quiet the restaurant was on a Monday night. We are looking forward to returning soon and bringing more friends to this wonderful restaurant. I would rate the service 4 out of 5, the atmosphere 4 out of 5, and the food 5 out of 5. I recommend trying the Oxtail Ragù and the Burrata. The average price per person for dinner is $20–30.

Disappointed in three of four dishes. Spadini was bland, sea and mountain pasta as well and the expresso short ribs were very tough and bland. The espresso sauce very spicy. The ginger calamari was excellent. Told the waiter, who provided good service but made no effort to compliment our disappointment. On our not to return list.
