Oakham Fish - Rutland

Service was fairly quick but both myself and my daughter were disappointed with Haddock (small thin and soggy) and Scampi (mostly breaded batter and also soggy). We paid for cheesy chips and there was no cheese on them. We only rarely have a takeaway these days and wish we'd have spent the £22 on something from one of the supermarkets.

I disagree with some of the reviews, I seriously cannot find any faults with this fish and chip shop! I am a picky eater when it comes to my meals, and every week the food is consistently delicious and cooked perfectly! This is by far the best fish and chip shop in town. The staff is very friendly, always polite, and willing to go the extra mile for their customers. The shop has great access and parking, and it is very clean. I would give it a 5-star rating.

Soggy fish and chips not made with any real effort. Fish and batter fell apart and chips were fatty. Clearly not run to the same standards as the last owners. What a shame as this fish and chip shop used to be the best in Oakham.

The best fish and chip shop in Oakham, Rutland. The staff are friendly, the food is excellent, and the service is quick. The atmosphere is pleasant and there is plenty of convenient parking available.

Went to get usual fish and chips hadn't been since before Christmas 2022,only when we got home to eat them you could see it was not going to be good , the fish was hard the batter was solid the chips were awful.i said it couldn't possibly be under the same ownership as before and I was right it's changed hands.will not be going back again,to expensive nowadays to pay out for a rubbish meal.will be looking for somewhere else.
