The "Pork & Chorizo" Scotch Egg starter was delicious, as were the Scallops that my wife ordered. For my main course, I had one of the best Roast Pork dishes I've ever had. And for dessert, the Caramelised Apple Crumble with custard was the perfect choice. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially now that it's under new ownership. Kudos to Damon and Chef Robert for a fantastic experience.
This establishment is the perfect embodiment of a quintessential English country pub, restaurant, and guest house all in one. It is truly exquisite.
Such a charming spot! We had dinner here with guests last week, and returned today for drinks on our own. We were quite taken aback by the price of a 175ml glass of wine at £8.90 - a bit excessive for a village pub! However, the Guinness was priced at £4.90, which was more in line with our expectations and offered great value.
There were three of us staying in different hotels in the area and one was staying at the old pheasant. We met there and ate on the Wednesday night for dinner and it was excellent, food, beers and service was spot on. We all had different dishes and were all very impressed. So, we repeated the exercise on Thursday and it was superb again. Can't recommend this place enough.
