Despite dining early, there were many people socializing around us. The waitress was cheerful despite being busy, and our main courses arrived quickly and hot. The portions were generous, my venison cottage pie could have easily fed both of us. We wish the new management success and look forward to returning next week for the Game Week menu.
We visited this restaurant shortly after the change in ownership and had a wonderful meal. The desserts were outstanding and we all agreed that the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely be coming back, as even though the entire team was new and the chef was still getting familiar with the menu, everything was perfect.
This country pub is truly exceptional, offering delicious home-cooked meals! You won't be disappointed with the friendly staff and lovely owner.
Sunday Lunch was superb and the pub very friendly. We stayed in their room for one night, no complaints, yes, the room could do with a refurbishment, but it was clean and I slept really well. Breakfast was good and service very friendly.
Sorry to say that we were disappointed. We went for Sunday lunch. The bread with balsamic vinegar was stale. The meat and potatoes were nice, but apart from that, the vegetables were undercooked and hard ,even though we like veg that is lightly cooked, this was too much. The Yorkshire pudding was not fresh and tasted like it had been around for some time. I see that this has been mentioned in a previous review but not taken on board. The owner was pleasant enough.
