They learned that we were family and that I was the sister of Ed Bradley who used to frequent the restaurant when he was alive (just died 10-20-22) and they wouldn't let us pay. left a big tip anyway, they were so kind and the food was really good. Their kindness was appreciated by us all.
The food was really good and the staff is really friendly and they work hard covering many tables. The place was almost full but has a lot of seating. We had the catfish and meatloaf. They have a large menu selection. Also many deserts but did not save room this time!!
The food was not good, the three of us ordered different things from the menu, nothing was good except for the ice tea. Hannah our server was very good, polite and took care of us. The restaurant window shelves were dirty with dead bugs and spider webs. The lights were very dirty especially the ones near the windows, cob webs were hanging from them. One of the men came out to clean a table off and he ran his hand through his hair and then keep cleaning the table. It made me sick but we wanted to try the food.
Stopped in with family after visiting our property. Had a wonderful dinner and even though they were getting ready to close, they did not rush us. When we were about to leave, we got to meet Ms. Penny and all the staff. Learned about the history of the restaurant and just got to know each other. We so look forward to a weekly dinner once our house is built and we get moved in!!!
Best home cooking around. Catfish, chicken and dumplings, meatloaf , fried okra-these are just a few of our favorites!! Reasonably priced, large portions, friendly atmosphere!
