Awesome. Was in town visiting sis’s fam, and parents. A line at a bagel shop says it all. Yummy. Enjoyed my everything with cream cheese we brought home and doctored some more thoroughly enjoyed. Awesome staff.
The bagels are good but almost $40 for a dozen bagels!? And then they also refused to slice them even though I bought a whole dozen and there wasn't a long line behind me. Honestly I can get better bagels in New York City for half the price
Owners, it's essential to assess your revenues and compare them to last year's figures. Is there growth? That's great, but take a closer look at how much of that growth is due to price increases versus an increase in the number of transactions. If most of your growth is driven by price hikes, that model could lead to your business's downfall. Relying on price increases can create unhealthy patterns, much like an addictive substance. Eventually, you'll reach a point where you can't raise prices any further, and customers may habits will shift. They might start buying bagels in bulk from a store and spreading their own cream cheese at home or turning to larger chains like Starbucks, which not only has a pricing advantage but also knows how to be strategic about price adjustments. You should focus on increasing your transaction volume. Are more bagels being sold year-over-year? Consider ways to enhance that number without raising prices. Here’s some free advice (though unsolicited): lower your prices. Make a big deal about it. Promote the message, “We are fighting inflation.” Use advertising to communicate this commitment. Shift your strategy to focus on attracting more customers rather than just increasing revenue per customer. This approach could help your business thrive—or at the very least, give you a fighting chance.
I decided to look elsewhere after experiencing poor service, overpriced mediocre food, unwelcoming attitudes, and frequent mistakes with orders. On a recent visit, I thought I'd give it another chance, but unfortunately, the same issues arose. The prices were even higher this time, the attitude was worse, and my food was improperly prepared yet again. The owner consistently gets orders wrong but never fails to charge customers inflated prices. The lack of competition in Rye appears to encourage this subpar performance. I recommend avoiding the long wait and taking your business to a better establishment.
