Baba's Chicken - S San Diego

Ordered the original chicken sandwich, mild, with side of fried pickles. Sandwich was overall very good! Was very crunchy, not overly oily, and mild spice was very tolerable. Spices and flavors of the toppings and breading was great! What was disappointing was that the actual chicken was not flavorful. Would be great if the chicken could take some of the flavor of the spices. Would recommend but most likely won't go again.

Just wow! Everyone and their grandmother is trying to make the perfect chicken sandwich nowadays, but these guys nailed it. I think this is the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Parking in Hillcrest is a little bit of a nightmare, but I’ll be making a point to come back soon!

Way better than Dave's. Way juicier chicken and sauce. This is the place to go for any hot chicken in San Diego!!! The fried pickles are also insane.

Ali was very kind he even stayed open a little later to allow us to order our food and it brought it out nice and hot and fresh! I'll definitely be back

Spicy fried chicken sandwiches are all over San Diego right now. When I found this place on Yelp, I knew I had to come try it. I called my order ahead and it was ready exactly as estimated. I ordered a chicken sandwich with a side of fried pickles and a free Mac and cheese w yelp check in! Don't forget to do that!! The chicken sandwich was great, but did need some tweeks. Definitely needs some more slaw! The entire sandwich was lacking a good crunch that the pickles and slaw did not provide. The chicken itself was soggy, but very very flavorful. The chicken definitely wasn't dry, which made it more enjoyable. I loved the heat from the chicken, the spice mix they're using needs no changing at all. The pickles on the side were one of the saltiest things I've ever had! The ranch couldn't even save these. I would definitely do fries over the pickles next time. The yelp check in free Mac and cheese isn't the best, but not the worst. Everything tastes better when it's free. Everyone here was very friendly and cheerful. I was happy our order was ready on time cause I was parked in a no parking zone (oops) and had to be quick. Would I come back? Probably. There are a few things I'd change, but I really loved the flavor on the chicken!
