I called immediately when I discovered the problem, but the clerk was not interested in correcting the issue and seemed more intent on trying to be right.Overall the food was alright the grilled chi Ken was tasty though the grilled veggies were rather bland. There are better Greek /mediterranean options in the neighborhood! We won't be trying this one again.
2.5I thought Daphnes was decent. Not the best Greek food I’ve had, but definitely not the worst either. It did seem a little overpriced but I was so hungry I didn’t care. Got some kabobs and steamed veggies and it… if you’re hungry it’ll make you not hungry anymore ? not bad food at all! But if I had the choice to go back here, or try another Mediterranean restaurant, I’d probably go elsewhere. The food wasn’t bad, but wasn’t memorable at all. I’m not sure if I would recommend to anyone.
This place is a sad shell of it's former self. Once the cashier finally showed up from the back after finishing whatever he was doing, he was either high or extremely sleep deprived and was pretty silent for the majority of the transaction making me repeat myself multiple times and failing to answer basic questions. He also forgot to give me my cup and was standing around with his AirPods in listening to something. Idk maybe he was having an off day or something. The food was expensive and ended up costing twice as much as it would at another place. The classic pita was alright, but the chicken Tzatziki salad tasted like burnt garbage and the chicken had small pieces of wooden skewer hidden in it that stabbed the inside of my cheek which I had to spit into a napkin. It's sad because Daphne's used to be amazing back in the day when they had more locations (Hence the 2 stars instead of 1. Even this location was good as recently as last year), but after the experience I had today I think they deserve to go completely out of business (In fact I can't see them lasting too much longer). If you're hungry, you are better off going to one of the places next door.
I paid 16 dollars for a rice bowl with “grilled veggies.” These ended up being boiled green beans (that were a shade of grey) and carrots from a can. This was nursing home food. Don’t know how this place is in business. Go elsewhere.
The last Daphnes in the county and they didn't disappoint! We were thrilled to discover it in Sorrento Valley while out and about. The falafel was cooked just right and the tzatziki sauce is so good. The gyro meat was tender and flavorful. We were sad they were out of our favorite lemon soup, but we will be back!
