Went to the Mira Mesa boulevard location today 8-2-22. Once again stupid me wants to see what all the hype is about. I got 8 chicken fingers, crinkle fries, two Texas toast, and 4 containers of cane sauce. $20 for everything.I heard from a former employee they let the chicken fingers soak in MSG all night. It tasted like this whole meal was soaked in MSG all night ,way too salty! I haven't felt this disgusted after eating a fast food meal in a long time. After eating this meal it makes you feel like a legit redneck from down south. Inbred and everything. Highly overrated, not even in the same class as Chick-fil-A or Popeye's. I do not recommend, I will not be going back.
The restaurant was quite bustling when I visited. A friend had recommended it to me, but I was initially a bit hesitant. I decided to try the chicken sandwich with fries and cane sauce, and I was pleasantly surprised—it was fantastic! The sauce really elevates the dish significantly.
I ordered the Box Combo, which included four chicken fingers, Texas Toast, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, and a regular sweet tea. The chicken was flavorful, tender, and juicy. The Cane's dipping sauce was enjoyable, but it really came to life when I added a packet of Louisiana hot sauce. The Texas Toast and crinkle-cut fries were both satisfying. The sweet tea had just the right amount of sweetness—not overly sweet at all. The coleslaw was exceptional—crisp and fresh, striking a perfect balance of vinegar and sweetness.
It’s Monday at 4 PM and there were only four cars ahead of me, but I still ended up waiting 20 minutes. When the food finally arrived, it was warm but the fries were limp and the chicken tenders were far from crispy. I requested extra sauce, which they charge $0.45 for, and after paying that amount, I received a single small container. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I spent over $16, plus $0.45 for the extra sauce, only to be served lukewarm food that was not crispy. I expected much better quality and service from Raising Crane.
