My ONLY complaint with the meals were that they were a little on the heavy sodium side of seasoning. I specifically got The Swordfish with a side of wild mushrooms. Both were good, but both were also a little salty. There were also some really flavor filled appetizers that consisted of broccolini and grilled octopus. Both were quite delicious. All in all the overall place is truly amazing and worth the trip from LA to enjoy. Be mindful that the menu changes each season. So the things that you may see on Google about the food in pics might not be what's on the menu. In short, go there with an open mind about the menu and just enjoy yourself.
Regretfully,!because the room is divine, the food was less than mediocre and obscenely overpriced. Risotto was like glue and clearly had been sitting under a heat lamp. The beet salad was overdressed. Even the Caesar salad was underwhelming. If you are spending over a hundred dollars per person the food should be much, much better. The restaurant was not full so it's hard to blame it on an off night.
My husband and I have celebrated our anniversary at Marine Room for 22 years. We have loved every meal we've had until this year. Chef Bernard Guilles was the chef at Marine Room for 27 years until 2021 when he retired. He was an artist in presentation and a master of pairing flavors to create an experience unlike any other. We ate at Marine Room last night and were highly disappointed and dissatisfied with our food. I ordered the scallops entree with a side of mushrooms and a side of artichokes. The presentation of all three was fair. There was very little plate appeal. In past years, we couldn't eat a single bite without first taking a picture of the artistry on our plates. I received three scallops as my entree. Three. The price tag of $58 for three scallops was almost comical. There were a few pieces of edamame and some peas and sundried tomatoes alongside the scallops, but the flavors didn't really compliment each other. And the scallops were mediocre in texture and flavor at best. My husband ordered swordfish. It was overcooked and chewy. Flavor was okay. Not great. The side of mushrooms was so over salted I couldn't even take a bite without washing it down with water. My husband, who over salts everything, said they were even too salty for him. On the contrary, the side of artichoke hearts I ordered had zero flavor...very earthy. My husband ordered a side of hearts of palm. He said the flavor was nothing spectacular. The sauce came under the long hearts of palm in the bowl so the hearts had no sauce on them as they lie on top of the sauce against the sides of the bowl. The two things we felt were decent were the broccolini appetizer and the tiny sampler dessert they brought us for our anniversary of creme brûlée and a lemon lavender cake. Both mini size. Enough for a bite or two for each of us. We have recommended Marine Room to everyone for years. We can no longer recommend it, nor will we be back to dine at Marine Room. The new chef just doesn't cut it.
The view was amazing. However the food was sub par and the staff was not attentive. I spent over $500 for the prefix meal and w 2 drinks. Plus another $50 at the bar for 2 drinks. The food was bland and nothing special. I was not impressed. Yes the waves splashing against the window was cool but not worth the money. Very disappointed.
Hector and team took great care of us. Food, service and dining atmosphere were top notch. We had a window table and it was enjoyable to see the waves up close as the tide came in. Would recommend the experience.
