We ordered on 28 november 2020. we are Japanese and we are used for good quality sushi. the sushi rice is first and foremost understated and hard. in sushi the rice is the most important part. in japan, a sushi cook used. for years training how to reis, how to cook rice with the right texture and how to make the rice with the right taste for sushi. many Chinese or Korean restaurants do not know how to make the basic, and it shows in their rice. next, the other ingredients were very shameful. very thin strips of avocado, very thin egg and the aroma was not correct, and the fish was thin paper. I really appreciate the quality and I am very willing to pay more for it. eating in this restaurant lis very bad quality.
My friend and I went in smiles and friendly and were hit by a surly rude and smiling waitress who held two fingers to confirm that we were a party of two, then led us to a table near a garish spotlight that was away from the (neureren part of the dining room. when I politely asked if we could sit in the other opposite, she said very rudely that the table has to be cleaned there and “I have no time!” we sat there ignored for a few time until another waitress named celia took us to a better table that had to be wiped away only with a cloth, not extinguished. I ordered tempo and rainbow roll. the tempura was heavy, greasy, diligent and the yam inside was oily. I've never had such a terrible pace. the tempura in other Japanese restaurants is light and crispy. that was the opposite. the rainbow roll was ok, but it was a miniature roll in comparison to other restaurants where they are slightly twice as big. the Sashimi pieces on the roll were extremely small. celia was pleasant and a good server, but based on the poor quality of food, the extremely rude hostess/waitress and the Scottish worn chairs and overall unimpressive eating experience, I do not recommend this restaurant and I advise everyone to go here to take their business elsewhere. that was not a pleasant experience at all.
I will never return to this restaurant. We were charged 32.00 per person for all-you-can-eat sushi, even though there were only three of us. Each order from the menu consisted of only one piece of sushi. I'm glad I inquired about the portion size, as it would have not been enough otherwise. It took half an hour for our next order to be taken because the waitress did not come near our table. When we finally asked about our order, it took another half an hour for it to arrive. It seemed like they were trying to prevent customers from having a proper meal within the two-hour time limit. Overall, it was not a good dining experience and we will not be returning.
Shiki offers a fantastic option to choose a preset sushi and/or sashimi box. The meal comes with miso soup, salad, and rice with a satay sauce. The food is delightful and delicious!
