This mountain restaurant is a 1hr 25min walk up from Saas Fee or a 15 minute walk down from the top of the Plattjen gondola lift in the summer, or a 1 minute ski down from the top of Plattjen in winter. It is only open lunchtime and afternoon. Stunning views across to the Dom mountain and the Saas valley below and its terrace is a sun trap. Menu is limited but reasonably priced. I had the spicy steak tartare with toast and salad (SwFr 23,) an unusual dish, but easily the best dish I've ever had in a mountain restaurant. Friendly efficient service. Doesn't take reservations in the summer which means it's a bit of a lottery as it's quite small (not sure about reservations policy in the winter.) And beware the summer lunch break for the Plattjen lift (12.15 to 1.30pm)
Even on rainy days you can go up there and the kids are busy there. Good food and healthy things for the kids.
.was unfortunately not exactly intoxicating. the location and the view of the mountain restaurant is simply fantastic. But if you have to wait 1.25 hours for the food and a coffee, the good intention does not really help anymore. It should be noted that on the terrace only 6 tables are to be managed. anyway, the food that was served was good.
Comparatively good price, fast service and the best food in the slopes! lovely ladies who, with a brilliant mood, served us almost daily.
