We also shared the Queen Sheba Signature Vegetarian Combo, which featured 2 types of lentils, cabbage, collard greens, and potatoes with carrots. Everything was delicious I particularly loved the potatoes and red lentils. Everything was spiced (but not spicy) perfectly. We'd definitely come back again!
It was my first time trying Ethiopian food in the area and we ordered the veggie sambusa and vegetarian combo platter (replaced the kik wot in it with the awaze tofu tibbs. I loved the simplicity of the flavors of gomen, cabbage, potato and carrots and the misir kik wot and awaze tofu tibbs gave it some spice kick. The injera bread was a delight as well. The sambusa was especially good and was served really hot and crispy! Tried their Ethiopian coffee as well which was strong with a hint of spice. If you enjoy black coffee, you'd like it. As an Indian, it's a great cuisine to try as you can definitely draw a lot of parallels (kik wot to daal, cabbage and potatoes to everyday sabzis, injera to palappam, sambusa to samosa, etc.
Overall had a decent experience here. Upon walking in a lady was a little snippety with me about where I could sit (it was just me, she insisted I take a 2 seater table in the center but I prefer to sit on the outskirts. The place was less than half full and stayed about the same throughout my visit so not too sure why it was such a big deal for her) but a gentleman took over and allowed me to pick an awesome outskirt table. I highly recommend trying their in house honey wine. I found it delightfully tasty and I don't normally like alcohol. The food was very delicious. I'm glad I came by. The parking for this place is a little wonky being it's downtown. I ordered the lamb and it did not disappoint. The lentils were yummy too. The bready roll ups have a strong lemon like flavor to them but I was told no lemon flavoring is added to them, something about them being fermented. Interesting. The price can be high on some things in relation to the portion size but you're paying for the experience here too imo but to keep that in mind before coming here. I highly recommend this place to those like me who like trying new things. I'm glad I stopped by and I'm grateful this place was within my vicinity today. I would love to see more cultural foods spread out throughout the world. Have a grateful day
Been coming to Queen Sheba for years. The owner and staff are ever so hospitable and friendly.
They have authentic Ethiopian food which tastes so yummy. The restaurant has very simple but pleasant atmosphere. Customer service is little slow but overall it is great. Also price is reasonable too
