It was a bit tricky to find the entrance as there is no sign, but it's located on the south end of the Best Western. The Crawfish Corn Chowder was very good. But I was disappointed in the Blackened Steelhead Salmon Sandwich. First off, the plates were fresh out of the dishwasher very hot! Not just warm, literally HOT! The salmon itself was a HUGE thick piece, approximately 7-9oz and was actually very good and perfectly cooked. But the sourdough bread was more like dried out than toasted (no browning at all) the 2 slices of tomato weren't cored and very underripe. Also, no red onion as stated on the menu and very little aioli. I asked for lettuce on the side (expecting a leaf of lettuce), but it was finely shredded in a little bowl very wilted from the hot plate. Overall, the sandwich was surprisingly bland and very dry. I took it apart and only ate the salmon. Side of pea salad was just okay too. While the staff was friendly, they loudly called across the restaurant to each other. Very unprofessional...probably won't return. So disappointed because the menu looked so promising! Too many other great places to try in Sandpoint.
Food quality price (value) rating 9. The atmosphere is upscale, but casual, lakeside dining, and every table has a view of the lake. I had the Chicken Florentine Alfredo, which had a wonderful cream Alfredo sauce that was topped with a generous amount of fresh grated parmesan cheese. The penne pasta was cooked al dente, as it should be. The wife had the Pasta Primavera, which had a very flavorful and spicy sauce, and the penne was also prepared wonderfully. Service was very good. They offer live entertainment five nights a week, and have a Happy Hour daily. The evening we were there they had a violinist and guitarist vocalist. There is a large outdoor seating area overlooking the beach, and a large lounge bar area. The restaurant is part of the Best Western Hotel building, but the entrance is not identified well. The building is part of the City Beach Park area downtown. We ate at six different restaurants in Sandpoint Ponderay while visiting, and Trinity was the best!Reservations should be made well in advance to get seated around six o 'clock, as the place fills up quickly at prime dinner hours.
Came here for dinner with friends. Didn't think much of it initially since it is located in the Best Western but I was pleasantly surprised. They ran out of prime rib the night I came so I ended up ordering the trout and corn and crawfish chowder. The chowder had great flavor but I didn't see any crawfish in it. The trout was cooked well and tasted good. It had a big piece of fish, very large pieces of broccolini and a tiny portion of rice. Multiple people on our table ordered trout and it seemed as if they began to run out of rice bc the portions seems to get smaller the more plates they brought out. Another friend got the scallops and a different friend got lamb. They said they enjoyed their food and it was all cooked nicely. For dessert, one friend got the sticky pudding and another got tiramisu. Both were large portions and more than enough to share. Service overall was good and we all enjoyed our food.
Ordered chicken florentine alfredo. Might as well called it pasta soup. It was that liquidy. Told two servers.. they didn't care. Servers were not attentive and seemed short staffed.
