It's been a moth or so since this place was seen open. Is it too much to ask for a sign on their door or leave a voicemail stating they're closed for a period of time if not indefinitely? There's really no excuse for not letting your regulars and potential new customers know the situation of your establishment. For that I will leave 1 Star. Terrible customer experience for just attempting to try this place out.
Wow. I tried this place before about three months ago and it was alright. However, today was a different story. I walked into the restaurant it was not even 50% full. I waited to be seated, standing there for about 5 minutes. (I 'm over 6 feet tall, so I 'm kind of hard to miss and the restaurant is small). Two waitresses just kept walking past me time and time again until I was finally asked if I was here for a pick up order. I said No, I 'm waiting to be seated it 's been almost 5 minutes. She said that I could just sit wherever I want. I ordered a steak and mushroom omelet with country potatoes and a side of country gravy. The food came out relatively quick and I immediately noticed the cheese inside the omelet was barely melted. It had a plastic-y consistency. I also immediately noticed the country potatoes were plain white with a tiny sprinkle of paprika. For the first time at a restaurant ever I had to add salt and pepper to my food. The steak inside the omelet had zero flavor. The mushrooms still had the not totally cleaned flavor. I mean...how can a breakfast spot screw up eggs and potatoes this badly? I just asked the waitress to take the plate back and I walked away. I will say the gravy was decent. Every other breakfast spot I drove by on the way back home had a line out the door. If this place wants business like that through word of mouth support from customers, they need to really step it up. The service and food simply sucked.
I'm not quite sure why so many Yelpers are giving this place 5 stars. I've gotten breakfast here twice. The first time I ordered chilaquiles, and the second time I ordered sausage links, eggs, and hash browns. The chilaquiles were terrible and left a bitter after taste. The sausage links were dry, and the hash browns were not crispy enough. In fact they were pretty mushy which was rather unpleasant. I can't figure out if I'm not ordering the right stuff, but I wouldn't recommend trying this place based on my two meals...
Place is super hidden and I feel like it is in an area you wouldn't find and that's so disappointing. The food is so good and the servers so nice. My husband annihilated the huevos rancheros and my chilaquiles were perfect. I've also had one of the scrambles and it was also the best. My kids loved the chocolate chip mini pancakes and the bacon was super good! Check them out!
