Context &Friday night around 5:30 &Used a deal/promo &First time here in a long while &Small party As a chain, my expectations were tepid. But overall this experience still fell below my expectations. While I guessed that there would be some waiting for the refills to the bottomless fries/drinks, I noticed two things: The initial portion of fries is pretty small and the bottomless sunset lemonade is filled with mostly ice. So you almost must get a refill and then you're at the mercy of the service, which was very slow. I had to ask for the refills multiple times. The manager even asked what I was waiting for and after telling him, it still took awhile. I figured they were prioritizing the folks getting their initial meals, though it didn't make me want to come back. This is a chain so not surprisingly the food was salty and portions were small. &Shortie onion rings right size for the two of us. These stayed crispy even though we took our time eating them. &Cheesy bacon fondue burger cheese fondue was on the side, which I appreciated. Comes with bottomless fries where the initial portion is small so you quickly need a refill. &Sunset lemonade syrup on the bottom and minutemaid lemonade on the top. It was mostly ice though.
This is my main RR, even though there is one closer to where I lay. This is my main because the service is consistent, reliable, and efficient. This early evening, I thought that was all over. I was seated with my fiance around 3:55-3:56, and proceeded to hurry up and wait for our server. We saw an elderly server scurry around the main dining area, bouncing from table to table except for ours. She was obviously the only server, which we understood, but this did not ease the frustration. Five minutes in she passed us with an, I 'll be with you in a couple of minutes. Five more minutes passed with no order taken and the frustration grew to intolerable levels. It was at this moment, as my eyes were following our server bounce around the dining area, that everything changed. Seemingly out of nowhere a man walked in front of me, standing an inch from our table. This man was John, and John took our order. John has been our server before on previous outings, and John performed exactly how you want your server to. Steadfast, observant, streamlined. John omits all needlessness when serving you. It is just you and John when he 's your server, and that is all you need. John saved this evening for us. He got our fry refills in record time, he delivered a shirley temple without me even asking. John is like a ghost, an effective poltergeist. John is the glue, the framing nails, the floor joists, that hold the Saratoga Red Robin together. Only go when John is working.
Great food; horrible service. We is literally had to bus our own table and get our own to go boxes. Our waitress barely came by.
Good food, its Red Robin and you're getting what you're expecting. The waiting area is a little oddly designed but thats not that big of a deal. Little different layout than the typical Red Robins that are attached to malls. Food was good! Would go back. The parking lot is a little odd as well but thats more because the shopping center it's in, not RR's fault.
