Le Relais De La Ganache - Saint-Astier

An extraordinary place! Run single handedly by a delightful man who cooks like a masterchef and presents all meals accordingly. Breakfast was basic, croissants, yoghurt, fruit, juice, etc., with coffee or tea in a thermos as he came in early and then left to take his kids to school I think, Dinner was something else!!!! A very limited menu that changed daily according to what was fresh at the market and what he felt like cooking and was presented in spectacular and delicious cordon bleu style. Exceptional value too. There is one night he has off though and that presents problems unless you know it's coming as there are very few places to eat locally. In it's own fairly wild garden and opposite a field of horses. Not that easy to find. Large room was a bit dated with a large bathroom across the hallway (not shared). Could have been cleaner, a bit dusty. Was rather chilly too I imagine unless you are lucky with the weather. We enjoyed our short stay and it is a beautiful part of the World.

Very nice experience at this place. The owner is very nice. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Very good value for money. I heard the food is delicious so will try it on my next visit.

We just had dinner there, and it was wonderful, a taste discovery with products as fresh as they were good. All with top service and a wonderful welcome. I recommend without hesitation.

A unique concept! The boss manages the kitchen and the service in the room. Little room of one understands why. bucolic and relaxing frame. Only hic we found the service a little long (more and our entries (soupe) were cold. Chef passionate and welcoming fresh and local products, dishes sought ideal for a meal in love or family
