We had high expectations, but were despised. that was decent, but that was all. nothing special. although the dishes were presented in very beautiful wise, the portions were very small. the weeping were nothing special in our opinion.
We ate here after an evening walk over st cirq lapopie. I had booked, but due to my poor French and a mix we have the time wrong, the restaurant personal found a way to accommodate us anyway. the food was super and exceptional... good value at just 20 € for 3 courses. I had nut-crusted camember with a fabulous hazelnut salad followed by duck that was perfectly cooked. the accompaniment was just as good as the main aromas that were excellently balanced. the dessert was unbelievable, local delikatesse pastis de quercy, a kind when apfelkuchen we split one dessert between two that was much. we did not drink alcohol as we had to drive, and the non-alcoholic menu included some infused mineral water, which was very good and beautiful to be supplied. it is always good to have friendly staff, but the two servers on service were exceptional, welcoming and very attentive. we will definitely be back when and when we are back in the region.
I followed the latest review on TripAdvisor and walked from the top of the hill to nearly the bottom to get to this little restaurant tucked in around a sharp corner, and we were so glad we did. It was a lovely sunny day and...the sun was sparkling on the valley below our table on the terrace. The staff are very friendly and speak good English. We ordered the fois gras poele to share and really enjoyed this rather large dish served with fresh fruits of the season. Beautifully cooked and presented. We noticed a beef fillet on the menu and decided to give it a try, even though a little expensive. Once again the meal was well presented and beautifully cooked and well worth every cent. There are not a lot of creamy dishes on this menu, which suits us after 4 weeks in France. For dessert we again shared the local delicacy of pastis du Quercy, which was very nice. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for either a la carte menu or the menu of the day.
