La Perle Noire - Saint-Coulomb

It's a delight to find a quality restaurant on the northern coast of Brittany to enjoy a perfect lunch with both sea and beach views.

We had an event down the road at the amazing La Malouinière de la ville Bague (more than worth a visit) and popped to this restaurant for a quick dinner. The setting is amazing, right on the beach with fantastic panoramic views. This is where...it ends. Service is abysmal and food at best average. We were ignored for a good 20 minutes whilst waiting for a table. Even when finally seated they still didn't take a drinks order. Then when our gin and tonic arrived it was completely lacking in ice.... food order was just as painful to place and when food came out order was wrong. When rectified it was extremely average. I would not bother with this restaurant again. Just take your own picnic and a bottle of wine and enjoy the beauty of the sunset over the sea....

This restaurant appears to be connected with the nearby camp site they include the narrative that there is a restaurant for gourmets. We expected a menu that was a bit different , slightly unusual items and good service. The food was quite basic in...some respects suckling pig (usual) but not with chips and lettuce! Tuna steak rare (usual) but not with noodles and fennel. Wine seemed pretty expensive 38E for a 2016 Sancerre for instance Service was friendly and attentive and not too intrusive.

We had our preprandial drinks on the terrace overlooking a deserted sandy bay and then a table by the window overlooking same bay with an excellent three/course seafood and fish meal and then back to the terrace.

Je ne comprends pas les derniers avis qui mentionnent un service désagréable et une cuisine médiocre !Méfiez vous de ces avis qui sont quelques fois d'autres restaurateurs mécontents !Repas en couple sur la terrasse ce 7 Août 2017, vue magnifique sur l'océan !Serveur super sympathique et très présent tout au long du service, a toujours répondu à nos demandes avec le sourire, courtoisie et efficacité !Nous avons pris les moules de bouchot, c'est la pleine saison, francouillarde et perle noire, nous nous sommes régalés !Un endroit à découvrir absolument je le recommande sans hésitez !
