Cafe des Fontaines - Saint-Florentin

A lovely little place, typically french. A blend of tourists and locals. Food simple but tasty and not too expensive like the other restaurants in Saint Florentin. The service is quick and the owner is always smiling and willing to please. The terrace also has a lovely view over the church. Perfect to just sit and sip a glass of wine and enjoying french life . (Your dog is also welcome).

Sometimes when you least expect it you come across a little gem that delights you with its simplicity. We visited Saint Florentin one Sunday morning and were drawn to its town square by the sound of the local town band giving a concert. The Café des Fontaines sits on the edge of the small square and serves a single take it or leave it menu du midi . Outside and inside seating. Dog friendly. Café doubles as a bar. Excellent and friendly service. We had a croque monsieur (with frites) and a tuna salad and they were both excellent, washed down with a glass of Chablis and a pression . A delightful place to sit out, eat, drink, watch people and enjoy life and be entertained by a superb local brass band. And I dare you to go inside the Salon de The/Patisserie just next door and buy yourself a sweet! A lovely place if you enjoy the French way of life. Highly recommended.

Small typical Burgundy coffee we often go flat very simple but excellent meat really cooked to your request the boss welcomes you with extreme kindness whether you are accustomed or passing

Very nice welcome. kitchen without pretention and very good. ideal to take a break before going back to visit.
