Cuisine and dishes of the farm and the region ...very well cooked by the family of the chalet and the farm Gustative Brother and the blueberry pies! a treat We have been having lunch for years at each stay. Well think about booking limited table nbrs
It is good to find this place to the welcoming soul and the good cuisine that treats us every time. That good family memories around the cheese fondue, its meat plate of the country and its green salad with a small detail that makes all the difference: the salad is all fresh from the garden adjoining the cottage! . Every time, it's hard to get out of the chalet, so we'd spend hours looking at the mountains. It's magical and beautiful!
We have been several times this summer and it never fails to disappoint. The salads are excellent. I really love the one with warm goat cheese. Another favorite is a tartiflette-type dish that is heavenly. The farcement, which you must order a day in advance, is the best that I have ever eaten. Finally, the panorama is maybe the best in the French Alps!
Like some in this column, we experienced a very unpleasant, borderline rude lack of welcome. The service was atrociously slow, it took over 30 minutes for anyone to pay attention to our table, and forever to get served. The menu is very thin, no kids menu, no plat du jour. The only choice is basically any combination of salad, cheese and 'charcuterie '. Only one hot dish of potatoes and cheese, which wasn 't particularly good, and an omelette which was rather small. The cheese were disappointing. The only saving grace on our plates was the very delicious ham and sausages. We would have liked to get some Farcement but were told in a curt voice that this should have been ordered before. You would think they could mention this when you make your reservation by phone? The deserts were equally disappointing, a miserable tarte au myrtille with very little fruit and a chewy mediocre pastry. There are so many nice places in St Gervas, we will keep away from here in the future
