We risked it for the sake of some good food, seeing as it was still dry when we arrived. Started by ordering drinks, most of which we initially chose were out of stock. We had a small plate of calamari too, which was tasty. We tried three different mains, which were between about 12 and 17 euros each - the mussels and chips were good but are a standard around these parts. The fish with saffron and fennel came with chives on top; the flavours just didn't work at all, which made dealing with the numerous small bones a bit of a chore, but i was hungry and the small portion of salty red rice on the side helped me through. The white fish in a lemongrass and coconut sauce with cut up spaghetti in we found sickly. There were no vegetables/salads in our dishes nor side options to choose from. Puddings: some kind of strawberry cake was good but on hearing it described as a fresh strawberry cake i would have appreciated there being more than about one strawberry in it/with it. Kids were happy with some chocolately things. On the plus side we were brought fleece blankets to protect against the cold and were helped to arrange a taxi home, plus there was no objection to us waiting inside the tiny indoor area when we had finished and the downpour started, and it's a really lovely spot - quiet with only the sound of the waves.
I heard it was a new Italian place in town.we walked in at noon without a reservationno tables but we sat at the counter.
One of the nicest and best restaurant I've been! Great pizza, lovely decoration and superb service! A jewel !!!
This is a superb spot. The food is the best we've had in the area and initially it seems expensive but they are catering for a very small number of people and each dish is carefully prepared. Razor clams were top drawer and the mussels the best we've had. Get there early as even on a Tuesday it was filling up (in the main area there are only 5-6 tables of 2-5 pax each). Service is good and I am sure it would a very beautiful spot for sundowners or an evening meal. Les Vendees needs more of these small, high quality places. If anyone knows of others - please add!
Very small but sympathic restaurant. We ordered the seafood plat and grilled lobster. The quality of the seafood is super fresh. I really recommend this place for a romantic tête-à-tête with the most incredible view.
