La Houle - Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez

This place came recommended by family and they were absolutely spot on! Langoustine, scallops, lobster, steak, cheese, creme brulee, melting choc pudding and great wine! Go for the set menu to suit your taste / budget, its far more cost efective. I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough, fantastic from start to finish!

Dinner was simply and astonishingly perfect from start to finish. Oysters were divine, seafood as fresh as delivered from the sea to your door, cozy and stress-free environment and no noise pollution. The authentic flavors with the absence of fanfare have a permanent imprint in my palate. I would have loved to leak my plate not that the portions were ungenerous but just would love to have more of that exquisite sauce. Service was relaxed and friendly, great atmosphere by the sea.150% worth it!

We went here as 3 friends and loved the location looking out over the sea. Best to get there early to get a table by the window.We had the 21 .80 euro menu of 3 courses. It was OK but the portions seemed on the small side for all of us. I had a good starter of sea food and crepe which was good and then the beef with potatoes and ratatouille, with a chocolate dish and ice cream as dessert. But overall the food and the welcome were Ok but not exceptional . There are so many wonderful places to eat around here that I don't think we would go back here again.

Lovely restaurant on the top of the Corniche really good view from the terrace of the sunset over the sea. Very accommodating as we arrived last minute on a busy summers Friday evening with a dog, I think we were pretty lucky to get the last table available.We ordered the fruit de mer platter for 2 which was amazing! I've added a photo. The food was really fresh and well presented with a good amount for the money. Our one criticism was it took us 3 attempts to get a glass of wine however they were extremely busy.
