Top notch Chinese food.<br/ <br/ Excellent variety of lunch specials that can include a main of choice with soup and rice. <br/ <br/ The ever so popular Spicy green beans lived up to expectations, the green bean itself is crunchy coated in an oily glaze with a burst of onion/garlic flavour. It’s sweet savoury all in one.<br/ <br/ The pork fried rice was fragrant comes in a big serve! The right amount of saltiness that wok fried flavour round this dish out to be delicious. <br/ <br/ The corn soup was a nice warm starter, very wholesome cooked strands of egg whites with pieces of corn small amount of chicken. Wish it had more chicken in it. <br/ <br/ The ‘juicy pork dumplings’ as they call it is delicious. Dumpling bursting with pork soup pork mince filling. The accompanying vinegar brings the classic to life! <br/ <br/ The servers are all very lovely. Bringing tea to your table after you take your seat. <br/ <br/ My recommendation- check out the affordable lunch time specials!
Absolutely LOVE this place. Everything about it was good! The Honey Prawn was my absolute favorite. I couldn't stop thinking about it since I've been there. Of course, I tried the Xiao Long Bao, very tasty. The Pan Fried cake with marinated beef had a very crispy outside and beef was not dry at all. Shanghai noodles wasn't too greasy. The prices were not bad at all, for the quality of good. I would definitely go back to try more stuff on the menu!
I visited this restaurant for their lunch specials. For currently less than $10 you get your pick from over a dozen dishes, all of which are served with a bowl of rice and a small bowl of soup either Hot Sour or Chicken Corn). I've had their Sesame Chicken which I thought was alright) and Sweet Sour Pork which I really enjoyed). Their portions are quite generous, and a great value for the price. The service can be a bit dodgy. The food comes quite quickly and the staff are reasonably friendly, but they aren't particularly attentive and do seem to mix up orders quite frequently. Overall, this is a fantastic place for a tasty and affordable lunch that I'd highly recommend visiting!<br/ <br/ Sweet Sour Pork $9.50):<br/ 4/5<br/ I was really quite impressed by the portion size: they give quite a generous amount of pork with very little filler I'd say that the dish was roughly 90% pork and maybe 10% peppers and onions). Moreover, the pieces of pork were actually very meaty, and was sufficiently tender and juicy. The batter was a tad soggy, but still had some crunch. I stirred the rice in with the pork so that the sweet and tangy sauce provided a great flavour to the rice.<br/ <br/ Sesame Chicken $9.50):<br/ 3/5<br/ Once again, the portion was very generous. Although the flavour the dish was very good sweet and tangy with a nice fragrance from the toasted sesame seeds), I was unfortunately a bit disappointed by the chicken. First of all, the batter was quite soggy and had lost most of its crunch. Moreover, while there were a few large pieces, the majority of the chicken were quite small and did not have much meat, but was mostly batter. This was still tasty, but a big step down from their great sweet sour pork.<br/ <br/ Chicken Corn Soup:<br/ Again the soup had a thick, cornstarch-thickened texture. It contained some eggs, corn and had a nice fragrance from chicken broth. I personally preferred this over the Hot Sour soup.<br/ <br/ Hot Sour Soup:<br/ The soup was thick probably thorugh cornstarch) and had some bamboo shoots, mushrooms and egg. Flavour-wise it was mildly tangy without much heat. It wasn't bad, but nothing that I'd order on its own.
My girlfriend and I keep hearing good comments about lin's on Broadway. We decided to give it a try one afternoon. Luckily it wasn't busy, we got seated right away. We ordered the soup dumplings, but longs noodle house is still the best in the city. None the less, still delicious. The beef roll was dine nicely, not heavy or greasy. Then the beef Shanghai meat ball. This is definitely a dish to be shared, it's huge. I can't imagine eating this all alone without having the meat sweats LOL.<br/ <br/ Overall, service was on the slow side, but not rude.<br/ Prices are fair for the West end.
