L'escoundillou

Stay here for three nights while on a awake holiday. The room was comfortable but not large, opposite the back of the hotel on a flowery meadow, so perfectly quiet and dark at night. We had Demi Pension, so no choice for dinner, but the meals were interesting, with local specialties, although more vegetables/salad would have been nice. Breakfast selects all usual things, bread, croissant, cereal, yogurt, fruit etc. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and professional. A little English is spoken when you fight with French. The road is quiet, well away from the busy main road, with a lot of parking opposite the hotel. It is possible to hike directly from the hotel, but a short drive will take you to the starting points for many fantastic hikes.

5 minutes walk from the campsite in St Jacques, so the obvious place to eat for us. Very limited choice, as far as I remember, it was the 19 € menu or nothing, but there were several choices within, and it was for 4 courses (only problem was that we had quite a big lunch, and what we really wanted was just an omelet or similar, but we forced ourselves! Service was very efficient (a bit too efficient at one point my plate for fish bones was removed as I only part way through filling my fish! , and the food was usually excellent, but with only one exception the chips were probably the worst I have eaten since my school days (if meals in large large metal containers from some central kitchen miles from our school did not have their own canteen and the chiprea were terrible. Apart from that, everything else was very good. We also had a nice bottle of local wine for a very reasonable €12,80

Restaurant sympathique.Plats bien cuisinés avec des produits frais.Propreté impeccable.Serveuse très efficace et disponible.Si je reviens dans la région sans aucun doute je m'y arrêterai à nouveau.Rapport qualité prix excellent..

En réponse à l'avis de Valérie H de Qimper en août 2015, nous souhaitons objectivement rétablir la vérité sur la qualité des produits servis dans cet établissement que nous fréquentons régulièrement.Premièrement, cet établissement est remarquablement tenu.Deuxièmement, le rapport qualité prix est sans commune mesure avec la région de Quimper que nous connaissons très bien.Troisièmement, la table est toujours d'un bon niveau, tant par la fraicheur et la qualité des produits proposés. Aucun aliment douteux ou industriel, ne nous a jamais été servi !Les fromages régionaux proposés sous cloche et ce, à volonté, sont d'excellente qualité !Quatrièmement, quant à la discrimination indescente envers la clientèle, pas assez jeune pour vous, nous vous suggérons à l'avenir de vous restaurer dans les chaînes existantes telles que les grands "fast food".
