Feedback gevenI went to this restaurant last night with a coworker. It is under new management and has a new name. We were initially concerned to find that we were the only customers, but other couples arrived later during our meal. We ordered from the Table d'Hôte menu, which included a great deal (only an additional $4.00 for soup and two spring rolls). My coworker ordered the chicken in peanut sauce with crispy spinach, while I chose the General Tao chicken. The vegetable soup we started with was delicious and tangy, with mushroom slices, perfectly cooked noodles, and greens. Overall, we were very impressed with the food. The spring rolls were a bit overcooked and hard, but still fresh and hot. My coworker enjoyed her chicken dish with peanut sauce and spinach, which had a nice balance of flavors. My General Tao chicken was better than what I had tried at the restaurant before, and I even had to compliment the waitress on it. The dish had a blend of spices and sweetness, with yellow and red bell pepper slices, onions, and a side of white rice. Despite a couple of tough chicken pieces, I was pleased with my meal. We couldn't finish our main courses and ended up taking them home. Personally, I enjoy cold leftover Asian food for breakfast. I was satisfied with the quality of the food and plan to return to try other items on the menu, especially the wontons with peanut sauce. I would recommend this restaurant to others in the St Jérôme area, as it is better than the previous establishment. Although the prices are slightly higher, the quality justifies the cost. Give it a try!
Friends love this place, can't understand why, We obviously had to tag along. Overpriced for common Asian food. As another comment from a previous contributor, we didn't feel welcomed, but it is a bring your own wine place. (Personally I tag along with friends, but hate this place and it's lack of atmosphere) go somewhere else for the atmosphere,
This place was La Christiane before, and was a nice French resto, with good, boring, food. As an Asian resto, the owners did little to make themselves welcome. Always polite, but standoffishly cold. Their food was over-priced for what you received. They did have good crispy spinach at first, but the rest of the food was utterly boring. The General Tao consisted of hard, small pieces of dark chicken meat. Not at all fun to eat, and that was basically it on your plate, so there was no variety other than the taste of plain white rice. It was OK if you were there with a bunch of people and you each shared a bit. However, in my case, it was always with only one other person, and we tended to eat what we had ordered, without exchanging. And, now they have closed and another Asian style resto has taken its place. Maybe the new owners will be more successful.Really too bad there are no Indian restos in St. Jerome. It might be a worthy idea!
C'est un resto à ne pas manquer lorsque vous êtes à saint-jérome.Très achanlandé les samedi soirs mieux de réserver. Excellente nourriture. Assiette très bien garnie. On peut apporter notre vin. Très bon service.
I used to go there when it was the Christiane's. I was not impressed, maybe what I ordered was not their specialty. I would try it again, just to see if it is any better.
