Looking for an affordable spot for breakfast, we happened upon Tops. Surely the prices must be the best in the city and the food was top notch. My husband and I had your typical breakfast and our daughter had a pancake and juice. The total was $22.50, the service was the best we had, and the food was great.
Everything is fresh and homemade here. Pizza is about the best in the city! Everything else is great too. If you love home cooked, old fashioned meals (including liver and onions, hot sandwiches, etc) this is the place. Soups are made fresh every day and service is always amazing. My only complaint is that they don’t have donair sauce for garlic fingers. But they are great on their own, so you don’t really even miss it.
I really love meeting friends for breakfast and Top’s is my go-to place in the city. The food is good as is the service and you can enjoy a leisurely meal without feeling rushed. A classic breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes (ask for them grilled rather than deep friend) tea/coffee is only $8 tax in... where can you beat that!?! I especially love that my tea comes in a real teapot. I can’t speak to lunch or supper but breakfast here is great and one of the few places in Saint John that serves breakfast 7 days a week. They have limited free parking next to the building but you can park about 2 blocks away for 2 hours of free parking. Skip the trendy poor service, pay for parking places and check out Top’s; in business in Saint John for several generations.
Was a place I would go often but the food quality has gone down so much and the prices went up went in one day for lunch hot sandwich fries the next week order same meal changed the fries they are not a consistant place to eat for u money for the quality of the food
