The Bartender Ruth was hateful to all the guest that was there on August 14th at 10 am .. there was 12 of us that sat at the bar .. no one knew each other and she was hateful to everyone that came up and sat at the bar..there was smile no, no politeness.. so no tip..DO BETTER BLUE NOTEI will say the rest of the staff was spot on and very nice and smiles all around ?
I missed breakfast leaving home early, so when I arrived in my terminal at STL, I went to The Blue Note for breakfast. It was 9:45 am. I was told that they and all restauraunts at STL stop serving breakfast at 9:30 am and there was no leeway with that. I cannot eat gluten, so I ordered some corn chips and brisket. It was tolerable, but a sad choice for breakfast. The worst part was how extremely salty it was. Too, too much salt. I do not recommend The Blue Note. Go to a news stand and find sone fruit for a gluten free breakfast.Dietary restrictions: Except for a simple lettuce salad, NO gluten free bread or anything is available after they cut off breakfast at 9:30 am.
Server was excellent! Hesitatingly suggesting they should find a better place to work however, as the food and presentation was below par. A nice, juicy bratwurst was insulted by a disheveled pretzel bun, with cold onions and gobs of mayo carelessly dribbled on top. French fries scattered across the tray with packets of mustard and a pickle on the side. Fair, the price was $9.99 (amazing for the airport) and the hunger was quenched, but a few bucks more for a better bratwurst would be far better. Tables needed a wipe prior to sitting down and the beer needed a coaster.
Briefly stopped to perhaps grab a bite at the bar. There was a wait to be seated for tables sign. After patiently waiting, I simply asked an older waitress who was filling a drink “hi, the bar is open seating right?” So that I wouldn’t bother with waiting for next table. Unbelievably, the woman responds to me, “ I didn’t say that,” in perhaps the most obnoxious tone I’ve ever encountered at ANY restaurant in my 50 plus years on this earth. I simply replied , “ Have a nice day and left. That CU Next Tuesday should be educated and better trained in her job—or just fired as I cannot can’t imagine what makes a person so mean spirited. Hard to imagine how much business she runs out.
