We visit Mariette once a month when in Le Mans on business. Splendid home cooking. Highly recommended. The buffet is a treat, but safe some room for your main course!
Put aside the quaint little village, the old world charm, the excellent service and wanderful atmosphere and let your taste buds into heaven. It is food like this that makes me wish I was a famous food critic. If you are one or a wannabe then...do your mouth and stomache, infact your whole alimantry canal, a huge favour and find some way to get to this restaurant. I live in Westerm Australia and even that is not too far away. My only regret is that I couldn't bring a spare stomache. The buffet alone deserves the highest praise but the main course was perfect. Can you give an eleven out of ten? The price made us wander how they made a living costing a mere €20 each without drinks. The hostess/ owner was slightly intoxicated but fun and should probably eat more of her own food to absorb the alcohol. My father-in-law is an ex French chef so I know about good food....I am so spoilt. I cannot rate this place higher ,
Enjoys our evening meal here and fortunately for me and my wife one of the waiter spoke very good English. our food was delicious and our English-speaking waitress could not have been more helpful with their translation and their food counselor.
Five of us were taken there by local friends, making a group of maybe 25. The atmosphere and service were great, only to be eclipsed by some fabulous local food! Old world inside, but we were in the shaded outdoor area. Perfect long afternoon lunch,...and tremendous value for money. The driver to get there is great to find some local scenery that represents the area far better than the outskirts of the town.
